By Changing Present we Change the Future

My four months sabbatical is winding down. It was a very intense, full of events and traveling adventures time. My sabbatical project was used to explore the full dimensions of the Web 2.0 phenomenon and its application to teaching and teacher education. Considerable time was spent on exploring Web 2.0 tools, including blogs and wikis, social networking professional groups and social bookmarking and RSS. Numerous tools were acquired and learned.

Sharing Knowledge is good!

I discovered a new Web 2.0 social bookmarking tool, Live Binder. It is a bookmarking site where a teacher can create thematic folders of resources and share it with the students, other teachers and parents. I enjoyed looking through featured binders of people and created my own site:
http://livebinders.com/shelf/my. Try it out!

Time to Think, Write, and Create

I had a sabbatical during the fall semester of 2009. It was a time for thinking, writing, exploring/experimenting with the new Web 2.0 tools, classifying them and collaborating with like-minded people about the emergent technologies.

Online Communities and Networks

New Internet is known as the platform for collective intelligence, the space for creating connections with like-minded people, collaborate with different professional and similar interests' groups. It is also called a PLE - Personal Learning Environment - the setting in which a person sets his or her personal goals, manages content and processes of what he or she wants to learn or to collaborate and communicate with.
